IndvsAus, 3rd Test: Pujara's ton leads Indian fightback

Ranchi: Chetehwar Pujara’s ton is leading the way of Indian Cricket team's fightback in the third of the four-Test match series against Australia at JSCA International Stadium Complex here on Saturday.

India was 360/6 at stumps on Day 3, with Pujara (130) and Saha (18) at the crease. India trails Australia by 91 runs.

Classy Pujara has hit his 11th Test ton and has registered his name as the only batsman to hit century in the maiden Test of four venues- Indore, Rajkot, Vizag and Ranchi. Apart from the Saurashtra cricketer, Headley, Hendren, Steve Waugh, Tendulkar, Kallis, Chanderpaul and Katich are the other who have done the same on three venues.

Pujara is playing some intelligent Cricket at 130 and has hit 14 fours so far.

Resuming the score of 120/1, India added 73 runs in its total before losing its first wicket in the form of well-settled Murali Vijay, who was looking comfortable at 82. Australia’s O’Keefe provided the major breakthrough to their side.Vijay’s knock was laced with 10 fours and a single six.

Virat Kohli (6) and Ajiinkya Rahane (14) were shown the doors of dressing room by Cummins. Indian skipper’s flop show with the bat is still on in this series.

Following the wickets of Rahane and Kohli, Karun Nair (23) was yet again a failure after Cummins splattered his stumps. R Ashwin (3) had also become Cummins' prey.

Patt Cummins was the leading wicket taker from Australia's side with bowling figures of 4/59.

Earlier, Kangaroos posted 451 runs in the lights of Steven Smith (178) and Glenn Maxwell’s (107) brilliance.
