Indonesia Open: Saina Nehwal loses in quarterfinals

Jakarta: Saina Nehwal, who has won the Indonesia Open title thrice, failed to get past Carolina Marin in the big match of quarterfinals in Indonesia Super Series Premiere on Friday.

Carolina, who is World’s No. 1 shuttler, played tremendous game to defeat Saina by 24-22,21-11 in a women’s single contest.

Saina, who is a London Olympic bronze medalist, tried her best to outshine Spaniard but failed at the end. It is her third loss against the Carolina. Marin will play Wang Yihan in the semifinals.
