India’s Rio Olympics dream ends as Sarita Devi tastes defeat

Astana (Kazakhstan): L. Sarita Devi also failed to qualify for Rio Olympics as got defeated in the second round of the AIBA Women’s World Boxing Championships here on Saturday.

Sarita, who was competing in the flyweight category (60 kg), lost 0-3 to Mexican Victoria in the second round of an important game.

Previously, Five-time world champion M C Mary Kom, who was competing in the flyweight category (51 kg) lost 0-2 to Germany’s Azize Nimani in the second round of the following event.

Mary Kom, however, said that winning and losing is a part of the game and she tried her best for winning the contest.

World Championships will be held in August. It is the final qualifying event for the women boxers in the Rio Olympics.
