Indian men's Hockey team defeats Malaysia in Four-nation tour

Melbourne: Indian men's Hockey team on Thursday defeated Malaysia 4-2 registering its first win in the Four-nation Invitational tournament here.

In a hard-fought battle, India managed to score two goals in the final quarter of the match earning first points in the contest. Nikkin Thimmaiah was the hero of the match scoring goals in 24th and 55th minute. Sealing the game for India, Akshdeep scored the final goal for India in the 55th minute.

With this win, India still has the chance to bag the title. Earlier, in its inaugral game, India had lost 2-3 to Australia.

India will lock horns with New Zealand in its next game on Saturday with an eye on the summit clash.
