Mumbai: Replacing Star, Mobile brand Oppo along with Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) unveiled the new jersey of Indian Cricket team on Thursday.

The new jersey was unveiled by BCCI CEO Rahul Johri at an event here.

"The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is pleased to announce OPPO Mobiles India Private Limited as the new team sponsor for the Indian Cricket Team," said BCCI in a statement

The layout of the jersey, however, looks similar from the previous one.

The mobile manufacturing giant OPPO's association with BCCI will continue for a period of five years. In order to win the sponsership rights of Indian team for five years, OPPO had put a record bid of Rs 1,079.

"This is almost five times the previous bid (Star India's). The second highest bid was from Vivo which was 768 crore," BCCI CEO Rahul Johri said.

Earlier, Star India sponsored Indian Cricket team from December 2013 to March 2017.
