Rio 2016: Canada levels a 2-2 draw against Indian in men’s hockey

Rio de Janeiro: The Indian men’s hockey team failed in en cashing the lead they got even after losing to Netherlands and earned a 2-2 draw in their final pool game against Canada on Friday at the ongoing Rio Olympics Games.

India’s Akashdeep Singh and Ramandeep Singh penetrated the goal in 33rd and 41st minutes respectively.

  • Scott Tupper of Canada scored in the 33rd minute.
  • Canada levelled the draw in 53nd minute.
  • India, in this tournament, has scored seven points with two wins, two losses and a draw.

The draw against the 15th ranked Canadians comes as a disappointing result for world no. 5 India.
