India tastes first T-20 series win in Australia

Melbourne: Continuing their dominant show in the shortest cricket format, Indian cricket team on Friday sealed the T-20 cricket series against Australia by defeating the host with 27 runs.

Team India was invited to bat first after they lost the toss and put 184 runs on board. Australian team while chasing the target could score only 157 runs in 20 overs. In-form batsmen Virat Kohli was once again the Man of the Match as he played an outstanding innings of 59 runs in just 33 balls.

In his innings, Virat slammed 6 boundaries and a six. Ravindra Jadega and pacer Jaspreet Bhumrah took 2 wickets each while R Ashwin, Hardik Pandy and Yuvraj Singh got one wicket each.

Rohit Sharma also played an innings of 60 runs while Sikhar Dhawan missed his half century with 8 runs and he was out on his individual score of 42 runs.

The last match of this series will be played on January 31 in Sydney.
