IndvsAus, 3rd Test: Match Preview

Ranchi: The Australian underdogs have got the treatment in the second Test when Virat Kohli and company have shown them India’s strength in the nerve jangling game. Another gem of a game will be expected by a Ranchi crowd amid on and off the field spats between the top two teams.

The trend of sledging is continued in this Australia series also. Steven Smith and brigade are leaving no stone unturned to sledge Indians while Kohli and his guns have also given appropriate reply to the Australians in their language.

International Cricket Council had rejected to take any action against Steven Smith’s act of taking help from dressing room on a Decision Review System (DRS) call on his dismissal during Bengaluru Test. When Indian team would come out at JSCA International Stadium Complex in the third of the four-Test match series, it will look to take the revenge of Smith’s wrongdoing in the gentleman’s game of Cricket.

INDIA:

Despite the failure of captain Kohli as a batsman, the team in the lights of KL Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane’s Bengaluru Test heroics, managed to emerge victorious in the last game. Murali Vijay would be a part of the side after recovering from the injury. Team management has expectations from Karun Nair. If India wants to put some big numbers on the scorecard then it must hope Virat Kohli to continue his fashion of hitting tons.

Indian spin duo R Ashwin and R Jadeja will be again called upon to shoulder the responsibility. Umesh has become Indian team’s pace sensation in the red ball Cricket.

Australia:

Steven Smith is the man. Being a skipper of the side, he has also proven in the series so far why he is capturing the top spot in the ICC Test rankings. Mathew Renshaw and David Warner have given some starts to the side. Mitchell Marsh could be dropped from the team following his upsetting show.

These three- Mitchell Starc, Steve O’Keefe and Nathan Lyon have been a backbone of Australia bowling line-up.

The Ranchi pitch:

The pitch will play a crucial role like the earlier two games. ICC had rated the Pune wicket poor while Bengaluru surface was said below average by the match referee. As per the pitch curator, Ranchi pitch will be spin friendly surface.
