ICC Champions Trophy 2017: Sri Lanka wins toss; India to bat

London: After getting a fiery start, Indian Cricket team has lost three wickets against Sri Lanka in the Champions Trophy game at Kennington Oval here on Thursday.

After being put to bat, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan shared 138-run stand for the first wicket. This was for the tenth time when Indian openers stitched more than 100-run partnership for the opening wicket.

Rohit was dismissed at a score of 78 which came off in 79 balls with six fours and three sixes.

Dhawan is unbeaten at a score of 88 runs. Dhoni is playing at an individual score of 8 runs.

Virat Kohli departed without scoring a single run and Yuvi was bowled out by Gunaratne at 7.

India is 191/3 after 36 overs.

Earlier, hoping to keep the semifinals hopes alive, Sri Lanka elected to bowl first against India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 encounter at the Kennington Oval ground here on Thursday.

Sri Lanka has made three changes in the playing XI hoping to uplift the batting performance of the team while India has named an unchanged squad for the match.

In its previous encounter against South Africa, Sri Lanka had suffered a massive 96-run defeat while India had thumped Pakistan by 124 runs in its first match of the tournament.
