Being the home team, India has been the hot favourite and had also topped their pool which comprised South Africa, England and Canada.

Spain managed to maintain the lead till the half-time of the match.

The lead was equalised by India when Simranjeet took the penalty corner and scored on the rebound.

In just a few more minutes, Simranjeet again took the penalty corner, which was stopped by Harjeet and shot past the Spanish goalkeeper Albert Perez by Harmanpreet to take the score to 2-1.
