London: Hockey India on Saturday announced rewards for the Indian Hockey team after their consoling performance, which helped them bagging silver medal in the 36th Hero Champions Trophy.

Hockey India head announced the handsome reward of Rs. 2 lakh to each player including chief coach.

Hockey India President Narender Batra declared the rewards in the dressing room post medal presentation.

After India’s appeal regarding shootout violation being neglected, Batra said that Australia did well to win the title but for him India too are winners.

Young defender Harmanpreet Singh will also be rewarded with additional Rs. 1 lakh for his tremendous performance in the tournament. Harmanpreet was named Youth Player of the Tournament.
