New Delhi: As expected, the Cricket selectors on Tuesday dropped Gautam Gambhir from 16-member Indian team for the remaining three Test matches of the ongoing five-match test series against England.

Uttar Pradesh pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who was out due to injury, has replaced the 35-year-old Delhi opener whose comeback into Indian team misfired. For many, it is end of the road for Gauti who will have to be extremely lucky to get another call in the national side.

By the move of the selectors, it is almost certain that Indian team management has found its regular openers in M Vijay and K L Rahul despite their failures in both the outings in Vizag Test concluded on Monday.

Virat Kohli led Indian team will lock horns with England in the third Test encounter at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali from November 26.

Teams:

Virat Kohli (c), Murali Vijay, Lokesh Rahul, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Ravichandran Ashwin, Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Jayant Yadav, Umesh Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya, Ishant Sharma, Karun Nair, Amit Mishra, Bhuvneshwar Kumar
