Paris: Spanish Tennis player Gabrine Muguruza on Saturday won her first Grand Slam beating defending champion Serena Williams at the French Open.

In her first claycourt final, Spaniard surpassed Serena by 7-5, 6-4 and registered maiden Grand Slam crown with her name.

Garbine, who is 12 years younger than Serena Williams, becomes the youngest winner of the title since 2012.

After defeating Serena, Gabrine Muguruza said-

  • I am so excited to play the final of a Grand Slam against one of the best ever players.
  • It is the perfect final and I am so happy.
