London: In the ICC Champions Trophy 2017 warm-up tie, India thumped Bangladesh by a huge margin of 240 runs, outplaying them in all departments of the game at the Kennington Oval ground here on Tuesday.

The crunching defeat left thousands of hopeful Bangladesh fans in tears, but one of them, who had gone a step further by predicting his country's 5-wicket win in the match, would never forget the kind of trolling he has faced for his optimism.

A Bangladeshi fan had made some predictions about the practise match. According to him India would win the toss and elect to bat first. In reality, Bangladesh won the toss and invited India to bat.

His next prediction was that India would post 288 runs for the loss of 6 wickets, with Rohit Sharma scoring 106 runs and Virat Kohli getting out for a duck. It also did not went his way as Rohit got out at 1 and Kohli did not come out to bat.

He claimed that MS Dhoni will score 52 runs off 62 deliveries while Ravindra Jadeja would slam a six off the only ball he will face. Again he was proven wrong as Dhoni also did not bat and Jadeja scored 32 runs off 36 balls. He, however, hit a six in his inning.

He went on predicting that Bangladesh would comfortably chase down the target with 5 wickets in hand. According to his, Tamim Iqbal (did not bat) would add 51 runs, Soumya Sarkar (2) would remain unbeaten at 88 and Sabbir Rahman (0) would play a 65-run knock. He claimed that Shakib Al Hasan (7) would score 16 runs off 29 deliveries.

Well the stats she predicted clearly show that the Bangladeshi fan could be anything but not an astrologer!!

Checkout her predictions here:

How the match actually developed:

Coming in to bat first, India posted a mammoth total of 324 runs on the back of brilliant innings by Dinesh Karthik (94 off 77), Shikhar Dhawan (60 off 67) and Hardik Pandya (80 off 54). Rubel Hossain bagged three wickets, while Sunzamul Islam took two and Mustafizur Rahman plucked one wicket.

Chasing a huge target of 325 runs, Indian bowlers bundled up Bangladesh for paltry 84 runs in 23.5 overs. Only three Bangladeshi batsmen could make it to the double figures – Mehendi Hasan Miraz (24), Sunzamul Islam (18) and Mushfiqur Rahim (13). Four of their batsmen went back to the pavilion without opening their accounts – Sabbir Rahman, Mahmudullah, Mosaddek Hossain and Rubel Hossain.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Umesh Yadav took 3 wickets each while Mohammed Shami, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah and ravichandran Ashwin managed one scalp each.

This was a fantastic end of the warm-up matches for India as they gear up to meet their arch-rivals Pakistan on June 4 in their first league stage encounter of the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.
