Exclusive: Now 'Le Panga' in Lucknow; UP to co-host Pro Kabaddi League

Lucknow: The much-awaited fifth season of Pro Kabaddi League (PKL), which is set to begin from July 28, has some great news for the lovers of the sport in Uttar Pradesh. Apart from introduction of a team of the state (UP Yoddha), the state capital will also host matches from August 18.

The state capital will have 11 out of 130 matches of the tournament between August 18 and August 24 which will be played at the Babu Banarsi Das Indoor Stadium here.

The four debutant teams include Gujarat Fortunegiants, Haryana Steelers, Tamil Thalaivas and UP Yoddha.

Gujarat franchise is owned by Adani Group, Haryana Steelers is a venture of JSW Sports, Tamil Thalaivas is co-owned by legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar and UP Yoddha franchise is of the GMR Group.
