Even the 'God' Sachin reserves golden words for Rishabh Pant

Lucknow: Not many batsmen earned the praise of the God of cricket but Rishabh Pant did. It must have been the most satisfying phase of Delhi Ranji batsman when none other than Sachin Tendulkar showered accolades on former's 43-ball knock of 97 runs in IPL match on Thursday night.

In fact, led by Sachin, the host of former and present cricketers went ga ga over the innings of Rishabh Pant which saw Delhi Daredevils chasing the mammoth score of 208 of Gujarat Lions in IPl match. Studded with nine sixes and six fours, the Rishabh's knock decimated the Suresh Raina-led Gujarat Lions attack.

In a tweet just after the match, Sachin said ' One of the best innings I have seen in the IPL and that includes all 10 seasons.'

Among the current lot, Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma also came on the micro blogging site to describe Pant's innings as Pant-sin Delhi followed by another Tweet which read ' Deserved a hundred . Fearless knock. Well played'.

Commentator Harsha Bhogle had also a word of immense praise for Rishabh when he tweeted 'This Rishabh Pant must see the ball before the bowler has conceived it. This is special . take care of him'. Harsha was equally appreciative of the 31-ball 61 run innings of Pant's partner Sanju Samson which read ' In contrasting styles, the elegance of Samson and the power of Pant had made this a captive session'.

It was a wonderful partnership of 143 runs between the two at Feroze Shah Kotla ground in Delhi which saw an awesome display of power batting to see DD past through 208 runs of GL in a must-do-well match.

Former Delhi player and now the commentator Akash Chopra also came in for a special word for Pant when he tweeted 'Strike when the iron is hot. Play a youngster when he is in Red Hot Form. I'd pick Pant for the Champions Trophy. Will you? His another tweet of praise though in a lighter vein says Kid has a run-a-ball triple century in ranji. Got runs in U-19 World Cup. Bachche ki jaan Loge kya ???'

It was really dream innings of Rishabh Pant and was unfortunate to have missed the century figure.
