Kanpur: The four-day Duleep Trophy tie between India Green and India Blue ended in a draw after rain washed out the final day of the day and night contest at the Green Park Stadium here on Friday.

The two teams got a point each, thus making the entry of Suresh Raina-led Indian Blue for titular clash with Dinesh Karthik-led India Red, beginning Monday in Lucknow.

The Ekana International Cricket Stadium is gearing up to host the final five-day Duleep Trophy contest. Lucknow stadium hosted the opening encounter of the Duleep Trophy between India Green and India Red. The next two games were played at Green Park of Kanpur.

The final match is crucial for Ekana International Cricket Stadium as it will decide whether the stadium will host the proposed India-New Zealand one-dayer on October 29 or not.

“Much will depend on the success of the Duleep Trophy final here as the BCCI as well as ICC officials may come here to take stock of the situation before finalising the venue for the ODI,” a source in the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association said on Friday.
