London: Former Sri Lanka skipper and wicket-keeper batsman Kumar Sangakkara is the record holder of 33 dismissals in Champions Trophy, the most by any wicket-keeper. The solo record includes 28 catches and five stumpings.

Former Australia wicket-keeper Adam Gilchrist holds the second spot in the same with 25 dismissals behind the stumps including 23 catches and two stumpings.

Former South African wicket-keeper Mark Boucher is the third name in the list with 19 dismissals.

As these cricket greats have already said good-bye to the game of Cricket, it is only Indian wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni who is very near to break the record of trio.

Dhoni is not only known for hitting huge sixes but also for his quickness behind the stumps. MS Dhoni has claimed 148 stumpings in 439 international matches, the most by any wicket-keeper in international cricket till date.

In 11 outings of Champions Trophy, MSD has 15 dismissals with 11 catches and four stumpings to his name.

The 2017 edition of eight-team league, however, could be the final season for Mahendra Singh Dhoni as he is on the ending phase of his career.

After Dhoni, it is England wicket-keeper Jos Butter who can come across with some new numbers in terms of dismissals behind the wicket. So far, nine times he has sent batsmen back to the pavilion in the Champions Trophy.

It may be mentioned here Virat Kohli led Men in Blue will lock horns with arch-rivals Pakistan in their very first encounter in the C-T trophy, beginning June 1.
