2nd T20I: Rohit, Rishabh class help India beat New Zealand by 7 wickets

Auckland: Chasing 159 run target set by the Kiwis, India, with the help of Rohit Sharma's brilliant 50 and Rishabh Pant's 40 runs off 28 balls, defeated New Zealand by 7 wickets in the 2nd T20 International match played here on Friday.

Openers Rohit Sharma and Dhawan gave a cracking start with the former completing his 50 runs of just 29 balls with the help of four 6s and three 4s. Dhawan was good with the bat too, but failed to accelerate his innings as he scored 30 runs off 31 balls.

Rishabh Pant showed his excellent class and remain not-out. He was well supported by the game finisher MS Dhoni (20 runs off 17 balls). India comfortably scored 162/3 with 7 balls still remaining and leveled the series 1-1.

For New Zealand, Sodhi, Mitchell and Ferguson plucked one wicket each.

Earlier with the help of Grandhomme's quick 50 runs off 28 balls and Taylor's 42 runs off 36 balls, New Zealand collected a respectable total of 158 runs on the board.

Man of the match was awarded to Krunal Pandya who took three wickets by conceding 28 runs in his 4 overs spell.
