C-T 2017, Ind vs Pak: Virat, Yuvi, Pandya steal show, India posts 319 in rain-hit game

Birmingham: Some insane hitting in the final overs by skipper Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh and Hardik Pandya's much needed cameo powered India to post 319-run total in the rain-hit game against arch-rivals Pakistan in Champions Trophy 2017 at Edgbaston stadium here on Sunday.

Pandya played a phenomenal cameo and hit three back-to-back sixes to Imad Wasim in the final over of India's inning. He scored 20 off just six deliveries.

Virat, who struggled a bit in the start, hit Pakistani bowlers all around the park. He remained unbeaten at 81. His 68-ball knock was laced with six fours and three sixes.

Yuvraj's 29-ball fifty is the second fastest for India against Pakistan in ODIs after Sehwag's 26-ball fifty in Vizag in 2006. Yuvi's 32-ball 53-run knock was studded with eight fours and one six.

Virat and Yuvraj shared 93-run stand.

After being put to bat, India got off to a great start as openers Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma stitched solid 136-run partnership. Rohit got his form back in one of the most crucial games. Dhawan was extraordinary and played a knock of his fashion. His 65-ball 68-run inning was studded with six fours and one six.

Rohit stood by one side and scored runs on a continuous note. He fall prey to a run-out in an attempt to sneak a quick single and was dismissed when he was just nine runs behind his ton. The hit-man took 119 balls to play a watchful 91-run knock, laced with seven fours and two biggies.

The raingods played spoilsport two times in the game owing to which the game was reduced to 48 overs.

With not-so-good batting line-up, Men in Green need to chase down 319-run total to win the crucial contest.
