Biopic on Azharuddin causes jitters to former cricketers!!
Lucknow: 'Azhar', the much-awaited biopic on Mohd Azharuddin to be released this Friday, has caused jitters to many former cricketers who have been contemporaries to the former Indian skipper who was embroiled in match-fixing controversy.
Kapil Dev, Manoj Prabhakar, Navjot Singh Siddhu and even Ravi Shastri have desired the special preview of the film to ascertain if they were shown in the positive light or not.
Former Indian pacer Prabhakar who was witness to match-fixing scandal during the hey-days of Azhar, is reported to be the most concerned about portrayal of his character. All these players were part of the Indian cricket team when the match-fixing scandal hit the cricket world hard and Azhar was found to be involved and subsequently put under ban.
Not only his colleagues but Azhar himself is cagey about his character and was said to be not happy with the way film has been believed to have shaped up.
On the top of it, Sangita Bijlani, the former wife of Azahruddin, is also unhappy over her charcater which is shwon as home-breaker. Incidentally, Nargis fakhri has played the role of Sangita Bijlani in the movie In fact, he had walked out of an interview during promotion of 'Azhar' when he was asked some hard-hitting questions about the cricket scandal.
