Sushma swaraj suffers kidney failure, undergoing transplant process at AIIMS

External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj, on Wednesday, revealed that she was diagnosed with kidney failure and has been undergoing tests for kidney transplant at AIIMS.

New Delhi: External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj, on Wednesday, revealed that she was diagnosed with kidney failure and has been undergoing tests for kidney transplant at AIIMS.

According to the doctors, "Her condition is stable. Her history of chronic diabetes has affected her kidney functioning. She is on dialysis and is likely to remain in hospital for few days."

Swaraj took to twitter and posted,"I am in AIIMS because of kidney failure. Presently, I am on dialysis. I am undergoing tests for a Kidney transplant. Lord Krishna will bless".

  • Swaraj was admitted at the cardio-neuro centre at AIIMS on November 7.
  • She is being treated under r the supervision of Balram Airan, Chief of the Cardio Thoracic Centre.

It may be mentioned that, earlier, in April last, the 64-year-old BJP leader had been admitted to AIIMS where she underwent treatment for pneumonia and other health issues.
