Lucknow: Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan on Sunday welcomed the Lucknow school's decision of expelling the brutal teacher who had been booked for slapping a student 40 times in a span of three minutes.

The Indian opener took to Twitter and suggested that the teacher should have been given a farewell in the same manner in which she treated the third-standard student for not saying 'present ma’am' during class attendance at the St John Vianney School, Lucknow.

The disturbing video was caught on CCTV and soon it went viral over the internet. With ample amount of media coverage to the incident and a police complaint filed by the parents of the child, the teacher soon got expelled from the school.

The principal of the school, Father Ronaldo also pointed out that this wasn’t the first complaint of cruelty against the teacher as she has earlier also been accused of torturing the students for smallest of the reasons.

Narrating the story of how he came across the incident, the student's father said that his son was absolutely silent after returning from school. He tried to know about the entire matter from the schoolmates of his son who dwell in the same locality.

When the children informed him about the brutality his son had faced, he immediately went to the school and complained the entire matter to the Principal. After checking the footage, the principal found the teacher guilty and later sacked her.
