Rashtrodaya Sammelan to be one of largest RSS meets ever
Meerut: Over three lakh RSS volunteers are likely to participate in the Rashtrodaya Sammelan, said to be one of the biggest Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) congregation in Meerut on Sunday.
It is being said that only Avdheshanand and Mohan Bhagwat will be joining the event. The circle has been prepared around the 101 feet tall flag pole where Bhagwat will hoist the flag.
RSS volunteers from 14 districts of Meerut, Saharanpur and Moradabad region will join the mega event.
The organisers have saffronised over 650 acre land in the Jagriti Vihar Extension here with decoratives items. The venue is looking nothing less than the Magh Mela of Allahabad's Sangam.
RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat will himself join the event to send out the message of unity among Sangh volunteers.
As per the Sangh officials, over three lakh people have so far registered to attend the event, out of whom over two lakh are youngsters.
ATS and NSG commandos have already been deployed at the venue of the grand event. Police and district administration personnel, in company with Meerut Development Authority (MDA) and Awas Vikas officials inspected the entire venue on Saturday evening.
Police's dog squad also inspected the dias to ensure the security arrangements at the huge land. The district administration has transformed the civil defence office in Collectorate into the control room of the event and has also posted administrative officers and employees there. As per the informed sources, the control room will open at 6 am on Sunday and will shut down at 12 at night.
To maintain smooth transtition of traffic across the city, police has stopped the heavy vehicles from entering the city and the restriction will continue till 12 at night on Sunday, confirmed Senior Suprintendent of Police Manzil Saini.
As per SP Traffic Sanjeev Vajpayee, the RSS volunteers will come to join the mega event in over 6,500 buses and even more number of small vehicles.
Prant Prachar chief Ajay Mittal said that by Saturday evening that arrangements to occupy over three lakh volunteers have been made.
The 200 feet long, 100 feet wide and 60 feet high dias is looking truly mesmerising. The dias has been positioned on a 200 feet long chariot which imbibes the image of 'Bharat Mata'.
A total of five thousand volunteers will be guarding the grand dias which has been decorated with over 20 thousand saffron flags. The dias has been prepared in the lines with Metro station, where lift service has also been introduced. The lift is capable of carrying six people on a single go.
