New Delhi: Making the day more special for the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj, all the top notch politicians reached out to her and wished her long life and good health.

The Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted not only wished her but also praised her for her remarkable skills as a leader: "Greetings to Sushma Swaraj ji on her birthday. Sushma ji is one of the most remarkable leaders of our nation. She has distinguished herself as an outstanding minister and her oratory is par excellence. Her role in strengthening BJP is key. Praying for her long and healthy life."

Home Minister Rajnath Singh, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Textiles Minister Smriti Irani, and Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan also wished her on twitter.

West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee tweeted: "Best wishes on your birthday Sushma Swaraj ji. Wish you good health."

Sushma Swaraj was born in Haryana's Ambala Cantt area in 1952.

She started her political career in 1977 and was elected MLA from Haryana. In 1990, she was elected to the Rajya Sabha and since then she has been a member of Parliament either in the Upper House or the Lower House.

Sushma Swaraj was first appointed as Cabinet Minister in 1996 and she also held the post of Delhi Chief Minister for a short period in 1998.
