Winter Session of Parliament: Houses adjourned for the day

Coinciding with election results of five states i.e. Mizoram, Rajasthan,Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, Parliament Winter session begun today.

New Delhi: Coinciding with election results of five states i.e. Mizoram, Rajasthan,Telangana, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh, Parliament Winter session begun today. Lok Sabha, however, has been adjourned for the day after the obituary.

At an all-party meeting , on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said the government was ready to discuss all issues of national importance and also called for cooperation from the opposition so that Parliament functions smoothly.

Starting the session,PM said,"Speaking at the start of the session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, "This session is important; many issues of public importance will be taken up. I have faith that all the members of the parliament will respect this sentiment and move ahead. Our efforts are that discussions are held on all issues."

The Bill which was to be Introduced was 'The Dam Safety Bill, 2018'.

Bills for Consideration and Passing:

-The Dentists (Amendment) Bill, 2017

-The New Delhi International Arbitration Centre Bill, 2018

-The Consumer Protection Bill, 2018.
