Meerut: A video of controversial Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Sangeet Som has gone viral on the social media in which he has dubbed next assembly election as a clash between Hindustan and Pakistan.

Tagging himself as Hindustani, Som has called his political opponent Atul Pradhan, the Samajwadi Party candidate, from Sardhana assembly seat, as Pakistan. In the video, Som is seen addressing BJP supporters at a meeting in Meerut.

Reacting to Som’s remark against him, Atul said he would lodge a complaint against BJP MLA to the Election Commission (EC) for the same. He also accused Sangeet Som of sparking communal hatred and making grounds to engineer communal riots.

Som, however, denied having said all what was shown in the video alleging it has been doctored.

It may be mentioned that Som had faced the charge of provocation during Muzaffaranagar riots in 2013 and had also been jailed for the same.
