Lucknow: A staunch Uttar Pradesh chief minister Akhilesh Yadav supporter, Udayveer Singh, was on Saturday expelled from the party for alleged anti-party activities.
Singh had written a letter to the national party president Mulayam Singh a couple of days ago alleging that Mulayam's second wife and Akhilesh's step-mother was mainly responsible for the present crisis in the party and the Yadav family.
He was reprimanded by the chief minister but it was not enough for the party leadership.

Later, talking to media persons, party spokesman and senior leader Ambika Chaudhary said he has been removed from the party for six years for working against the interest of the party. He was not supposed to write to the party president directly and make an allegation against a family member.
"This amounts to indiscipline and no one how- so -ever big he or she is spared for this kind of behaviour", he said. Another party spokesman, Gaurav Bhatia supported him, saying he had grossly violated party's rules and regulations.
On the other hand, expelled party member Udayveer Singh, denied that his action amounted to indiscipline. He was, in fact, trying to help the party by alerting it and saving further damage. He hoped that the party would reconsider the decision and take him back to the fold.
