Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh governor Ram Naik has cleared three names, sent by the state government for nomination to the upper house, but is yet opposed to inclusion of Rajpal Kashyap in the list of nominees. This is the second time that the governor has made certain queries about him.

In the political circles, It is seen as a sign of growing confrontation between the governor and the state government.

According to informed sources, the state government had recently recommended four persons, Balwant Singh Ramuwalia, Jahir Hasan alias Wasim Barelvi, Madhukar Jetly and Rajpal Kashyap. Excepting Kashyap’s all other names were approved by him for the legislative council.

It is believed that the governor will get his nod only after he receives a “satisfactory” reply from the state government.
