BJP claims of winning Polls; Ground reality is far different: Sharad Yadav

New Delhi: Janata Dal leader Sharad Yadav on Monday, said that two kinds of alliances called 'total unity' and 'possible unity' will be the opposition's formula to expel out the BJP government.

Sharad, who played a key role in bringing various opposition parties together on an anti-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) platform, said that the name of the Prime Minister of a coalition government has in the past emerged mostly after the Lok Sabha polls and it will also be the case in the coming elections.

As per Yadav, there will be 'sampoorn ekta' (total unity) and 'sambhav ekta' (possible unity). "The focus is on total unity, but if it's not possible we will try to get possible unity" said Yadav while addressing media.

Yadav, who is counted among the senior most opposition leaders, said a pan-India opposition alliance won't be feasible and there will be state specific agreement for coalition.

He said that total unity may be difficult due to competing claims of different parties. States like Karnataka and West Bengal are quite crucial in terms of total unity, yet this will not hamper the grand alliance of opposition parties.

He said that right now, the ultimate aim is to defeat BJP and opposition will be able to achieve this by a strong alliance.

The Janata Dal leader accused PM Modi of indecisiveness and said that the Modi government failed to keep its promises. He allegedly said that Modi government is communal and works on 'divide and rule' policy.
