Three-time Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit passes away at 81
Senior Congress leader and three-time Delhi Chief Minister and Shiela Dikshit passed away on Saturday, here, due to prolonged illness. She was 81.
New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and three-time Delhi Chief Minister and Shiela Dikshit passed away on Saturday, here at Fortis Hospital after suffering cardiac arrest. She was 81.
As per Director of Escorts Fortis, Dr Ashok Seth the ex-Delhi CM was managed well by a team of doctors. But around 3:15 pm she again suffered a cardiac arrest after which she was put on ventilator and at 3:55 pm Sheila Dikshit passed away.

Extending their support and condolences to her family, Congress party tweeted on its official twitter account:

Expressing his grief on the loss of a political leader and reformer, Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a tweet:
Deeply saddened by the demise of Sheila Dikshit Ji. Blessed with a warm and affable personality, she made a noteworthy contribution to Delhi’s development. Condolences to her family and supporters. Om Shanti. pic.twitter.com/jERrvJlQ4X

Sheila Dikshit had undergone angioplasty in November 2012 and was regularly treated at Fortis Escorts Heart institute. She also had a heart surgery in University Hospital in Lille, France in 2018.
