Vote for BJP to put an end to terrorism, Modi appeals to people after blasts

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Bhrataiya Janata Party's (BJPs) mega event - "Main Bhi Chowkidar" where he interacted with lakhs of people across the country, through video conferencing set up at more than 500 locations across India.

Speaking at the event, PM Modi said, "For me, chowkidar is representative of Mahatma Gandhi's concept of trusteeship. Country does not need rajas and maharajas. It makes me happy that spirit behind chowkidar is expanding."

PM said, "During 2014 elections, I was new to India. I had some familiarity as a Chief Minister. My detractors had publicised me. People were asking who is he. In between this, the BJP gave me mandate and I got to travel across the nation. I said, have faith that the responsibility you are giving me, you're making a chowkidar sit."

Speaking on the Balakot air strikes by Indian Air Force, the PM said, "Those abusing Modi on Balakot air strikes helping Pak with their statements. Balakot air strikes were carried out by our country's jawans, not by me. We salute them."

He said, "We've been told Balakot area is being reconstructed by Pak to show people that no terror camp existed."

He added, "Pak is in a fix because if it acknowledges Balakot air strikes, it will have to accept that there was terror camp there. Pakistan has started opening airspace after air strikes, believing Modi is busy with elections but country is more important for me."
