The elections for the state legislature in Uttar Pradesh are currently in their third round. In such a circumstance, the BJP has now committed all of its resources to maintain its position. At the same time, the SP is in the process of regaining power via social engineering backward and Muslim communities in order to reclaim its long-lost mass following.

On February 20, voting will take place in 59 assembly seats distributed over 16 districts, including Hathras, Firozabad, Etah, Kasganj, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Etawah, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Hamirpur, and Mahoba.

In 2017, the BJP won 49 out of the 59 seats available. SP had to settle with 8 members, with the BSP Congress receiving one seat apiece. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is prepared to go all out in the third phase of the campaign. He has brought in a large number of veterans. Swatantra Dev Singh, the state president of the BJP, also has a connection with Orai. He is regarded as one of the most important figures in the Kurmi community. Asim Arun, who resigned from his IPS position to pursue a political career, is also running for the Kannauj seat. Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti carries the task of caring for Kewat, Malah, and Kashyapa on her shoulders, which she does admirably.

Subrat Pathak, on the other hand, is responsible for keeping the Brahmins of Mainpuri, Kanauj, and Etawah unified. Sirsaganj, Karhal, Mainpuri, Kishni, Kannauj, Jaswant Nagar, and Sisamau were among the districts where the SP was unable to get more than eight seats in 2017. In 2012, they were able to get 37 seats from this location. The most difficult problem that Akhilesh has is reviving the nation's stagnant mass base.

The SP was unable to gain a single seat in the districts of Bundelkhand where elections were scheduled. The SP had run in the 2017 elections as part of the Congress-led opposition coalition. The Yadav voters of the SP had suffered a significant loss as a result of the infighting in the family.

Meanwhile, the SP's Muslim vote bank was also fragmented as a result of the BSP fielding a Muslim candidate in the general election. Non-Yadav, Shakya, and Lodhi voters overwhelmingly supported the BJP. However, the SP has attempted to drag the Muslim and Yadav vote banks along with the rest of the electorate backward this time.

Akhilesh has also made a concerted attempt to prevent his uncle Shivpal from dividing the Yadav vote by running for the SP party symbol in the elections. Despite the fact that the SP did not achieve victory in 2017, it was in the running for second place in more than two dozen seats. A few seats were lost by a razor-thin margin in the election. In these seats, Akhilesh has organized special morchas for the people. The positions in which he has been entrusted with the ability to exert influence. He is a candidate for the Karhal Municipality in the upcoming elections. According to political experts, their goal in competing from this location is to prevent the Yadav vote bank from collapsing.
