Tamil Nadu Assembly Election 2021:

In the elections in Tamil Nadu, two Communist parties - CPI and CPI. They will contest 6–6 seats as part of the DMK alliance. The DMK was not willing to give more than four seats. For this reason, the CPI (M) had kept silence, but this alliance could come true as DMK supremo MK Stalin had a detailed discussion with CPI (M) General Secretary Sitaram Yechury and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

CPI (M) State Secretary K.K. Balakrishnan said that the CPI-M has signed a deal for 6 seats in the DMK alliance as we do not want the secular votes to be split in the assembly elections and the AIADMK-BJP alliance will benefit. The CPI (M) is entitled to more seats, but we are clear in our aim and therefore we have tied up for 6 seats only.
