New Delhi: Petrol and diesel prices have been continuously increasing in the country for the past several days. Today, the prices of petrol and diesel have increased again on Monday. The Congress is also doing protest nationwide in this regard.

Meanwhile, the interim president of the Congress, Sonia Gandhi, has once again targeted the Modi government at the Center for the increased prices of petrol and diesel. He says that the Modi government has increased the excise duty on petrol and diesel 12 times and collected an additional Rs 18 lakh crore.

Rate of diesel crossed Rs 80 per liter:

Sonia Gandhi said that the havoc of the Corona epidemic in one way and the cost of petrol and diesel on the other hand has made it difficult for the countrymen to live. Today, the prices of both petrol and diesel have crossed Rs 80 per liter in Delhi and other major cities of the country.

Modi government has increased excise duty on petrol and diesel:

She said that after the lockdown from March 25, the Modi government has raised the prices of petrol and diesel for 22 consecutive times in the last three months. The price of diesel has been increased by Rs 11 per liter and the price of petrol by 9 rupees 12 paise.

She said that in the last three months, the Modi government has made arrangements to collect millions of crores annually by increasing excise duty. All this is being done when the prices of crude oil are continuously falling in the international market. She further said that after the year 2014, instead of giving the benefit of falling prices of crude oil to the public, Modi government has increased excise duty on petrol and diesel 12 times, which led to additional recovery of 18 lakh crores.
