Soil Purchase Scam: Bihar govt orders probe against Lalu's son Tej Pratap

Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday ordered probe against RJD Chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's son Tej Pratap into an alleged land scam case.

Tej Pratap has been accused of selling soil from his property to Patna Zoo for Rs 90 lakh without following the process.

Tej Pratap and his younger brother Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav are the directors of the firm that owns the land.

On Tuesday, senior BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi demanded the removal of Lalu Prasad Yadav's son Tej Pratap as Bihar's environment and forest minister amid corruption allegations.

Tej Pratap, meanwhile, has denied his involvement and even threatened to file a defamation suit against Sushil Modi, who demanded a high-level probe into the 'soil purchase scam'.
