New Delhi: Smriti Irani was trolled by twitteratis when she took to the micro blogging site to express her reservation about referring to her as ‘Dear’ by Bihar’s education minister Dr. Ashok Choudhary in official correspondence.

The twitter world was quick to ridicule the HRD minister after Dr. Choudhary responded to her tweet by saying professional mails start with 'dear'.

The incident:

  • The twitter battle started when the Union HRD minister raised a brow at being addressed as ‘Dear’ by Dr. Choudhary, in one of his tweets.
  • Smriti was being targeted by the minister in his twitter post in which he wrote, “and that she should pay attention to her ministry instead of playing political games and hovering over trivial matters.”
  • Irani quickly diverted the topic by pointing out that that Bihar was the only state that hadn't taken part in grass root consultations for education policy.
  • Smriti Irani has often been involved in tiffs on twitter with critics, rivals and journalists.
