Patna: Terming his removal as parliamentary party leader in the Rajya Sabha 'unconstitutional', rebel Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav on Wednesday said that in his bad time majority of party members are with him.

It was Sharad's reply to the letter of Lok Sabha member Kaushalendra Kumar of August 11 which was about former's removal.

He also sent the rejoinder to Rajya Sabha chairman M Venkaiah Naidu and JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar.

"You have no moral or legal authority to issue the aforesaid letter to me and the same is against the provision of party's constitution for which appropriate action is being proposed by its office bearers," Yadav wrote in his letter.

Blaming Nitish and Kaushalendra of abandoning basic principles, he said that both voluntarily gave up their membership.

"It appears that driven by political opportunism the faction led by Nitish Kumar has voluntarily left the membership of the Janata Dal (United)," he said.

Sharad also stressed on the party symbol, saying, it should be allotted to his faction as majority of the rank is supporting him. Sharad said that his faction has moved to the Election Commission for the same.
