New Delhi: Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Sunday launched a scathing attack on the central government over the alleged misuse of investigative agencies. He said that "contract killings" have now been replaced by "Sarkari Hatyayon(Government Killings)" to eliminate political rivals in Maharashtra and the contract is being given to the investigating agency.

Sanjay Raut slams Centre:

Raut said the central government has put the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Income Tax Department behind them to harass some ministers in the Shiv Sena-led Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government. One of these is definitely a CBI investigation. He said that it seems that the investigating agency is acting as a contract killer of the central government. Raut wrote in the weekly column Rokhthok whether there is any law for raiding in Maharashtra or not? This question comes to everyone's mind considering the record-breaking raids being conducted through central investigative agencies.

Raids became a new business without any investment: Raut

Raut said that earlier the rulers of Delhi used to lie but now continuous raids without any capital investment has become a new business. He said that people's money and government machinery are being misused to remove political opponents.

In the past, contract killings used to take place when the underworld was active in Mumbai. Gangs used to employ goons on contract to kill opponents but now this has been converted into 'government killings'. Central investigative agencies are acting as contract killers for the party in power in Delhi. Raut said eliminating unwanted political rivals through these agencies has become a new policy.

Referring to the arrest by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and state minister Nawab Malik's son-in-law Samir Khan, Raut said Khan was arrested on the pretext of his involvement in a drug racket. He was imprisoned for eight months. Raut has said in his article that now the court has granted him bail. The court said that herbal tobacco and not drugs were found with Khan. Malik should register a case against NCB officials. The Shiv Sena leader further said that instead of finding out the whereabouts of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh, the CBI was raiding the houses of former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh who had accused Deshmukh of corruption.
