Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh President of Samajwadi Party's women wing Dr. Shweta Singh resigned from her post on Tuesday.

In the resignation letter, that Shweta sent to Akhilesh Yadav, National President of the party, she cited the disrespect shown to the party’s office bearers as the reason behind her inability to continue with the Samajwadi Party.

The SP leader wrote that while she has fulfilled all her duties and responsibilities, she was deeply saddened with the way some senior SP leaders have behaved with her.

It could be recalled that earlier, a SP worker had also wrote a letter complaining the wrongdoings within the party. He had called Akhilesh Yadav as the arrogant and greedy politician and had alleged other party leaders of attempting wrong ways to fulfill their desires.

Dr Shweta Singh was appointed as the president of SP's women wing in 2016.
