Lucknow: Samajwadi Party on Friday revised the list of declared assembly candidates for Uttar Pradesh polls. Party state president Naresh Uttam re-announced the amendments regarding the four constituencies namely Bijnor, Bareilly Sadar, Bareilly Cantt and Etmadpur (Agra).

Uttam said that the revisions were made by the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.

The revisions made were:

  • Manoj Kumar Paras was introduced as the assembly candidate in place of Yashvir Singh from Nagina constituency in Bijnor district.
  • Anil Sharma and Zafar Beg from Bareilly Sadar and Bareilly Cantt constituencies respectively, in Bareilly district, have been denied tickets.
  • Rajabeti Baghel has been given ticket in place of Rakesh Baghel from Agra districts Etmadpur constituency.

Amid growing speculations regarding ruling Samajwadi Party and the Congress over pre-poll alliance, Akhilesh Yadav had declared the names of 191 assembly candidates for the first, second and third phase of the upcoming polls in Uttar Pradesh on Friday here at the party office.

The previous list containing 191 names was also released by the party's state president Naresh Uttam. The list was put on hold due to ongoing alliance talks between the two.

Following indication of alliance talks have failed, the SP released the updated list finalised by Akhilesh.
