Samajwadi Party leader shot dead in Uttar Pradesh

Lakhimpur: In the yet another case of poll violence in Uttar Pradesh, one Samajwadi Party activist was shot by the Bahujan Samaj party supporters in the Mandoor village on Wednesday.

The victim, Ramesh, was coming out of the polling booth after casting his vote when BSP supporters attacked him.

According to police, the injured had been admitted to the hospital where his condition was stated to be serious.

The Lakhimpur is the constituency number 142 of Uttar Pradesh assembly. The polling is going on for the second phase and the results will be declared on March 11.
