New Delhi: A day after the Election Commission of India allotted the 'cycle' symbol to Akhilesh Yadav faction of the Samajwadi Party (SP), Ram Gopal Yadav filed a caveat in the Supreme Court on Tuesday.

The caveat has been filed as it was apprehended that Mulayam Singh Yadav and Shivpal Yadav will move Supreme Court against the EC decision of allotting the 'cycle' symbol to Akhilesh Yadav.

In the caveat, Ram Gopal Yadav has urged the SC to hear their stand too in case any plea is filed against the EC decision.

After getting thumbs up from the EC, Akhilesh Yadav immediately rushed to 5 Kalidas Marg residence where he met his party leaders and told them that soon the list of candidates in alliance with the Congress will be released in the state capital.

"We have the blessings of Neta ji (Mulayam Singh Yadav) with us. Apart from being my father, he is also the caretaker of the Samajwadi Party. His face and my work are the real face of the SP. We will contest the UP elections with the same agenda," said Akhilesh to SP leaders.
