New Delhi: The Rajya Sabha was on Friday adjourned sine die as the monsoon session came to a close as scheduled.

Chairman M. Venkaiah Naidu said the House had 74 per cent productivity and passed 14 bills over 17 sittings.

"The media forecast was that this session would be a washout. But I am gald that the media for once has been proved wrong. This session proved to be three times more productive than the last Budget session.

"We passed 14 bills, while only 10 bills were passed in the last two sessions put together," Naidu observed in his valedictory remarks.

The Rajya Sabha, in an unusual gesture, sat beyond its scheduled time on Friday and passed two government legislations, besides discussing three private members' resolutions.
