New Delhi: Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday paid a visit to the ailing Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in his official chamber and wished him a speedy recovery.

Rahul visited Parrikar just a day after tweeting that the former Defence Minister "possessed explosive Rafale deal secrets which gave the Goa Chief Minister power over the Prime Minister Narendra Modi."

He had also alleged the audio tape in which Health Minister Vishwajit Rane was heard saying that Parrikar possesses Rafale files was "genuine", which is the reason why the Parrikar-led administration was not probing the contents of the audio.

Although, upon asking if Gandhi talked about the rafale issue the Congress leader Chandrakant Kavlekar said, "It was a private visit. That issue was not discussed. Rahul Gandhi could make an official trip to Goa next month."

He also said, "He met the Chief Minister, talked to him for five minutes inquiring about his health."

"This morning I visited Goa CM, Manohar Parrikar, to wish him a speedy recovery. It was a personal visit," Rahul Gandhi tweeted.

It is to be mentioned that Rahul Gandhi has been in Goa with his mother and former Congress President, Sonia Gandhi since Saturday.
