Rahul Gandhi: PM Modi travels to US, China in his wealthy friends' aircraft

Jaunpur: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Monday claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi travels to the US and China in the aircraft of his wealthy friends and has made fun of the 99 per cent honest population of the country through demonetisation.

"Most of the total wealth of India lies with 50 families. Modi travels to America and China with their family members, in their aircraft," said Rahul at a 'Janakrosh Rally' in Juanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

This was his first rally in poll-bound Uttar Pradesh after a fruitless end of the Winter Session of the Parliament due to demonetisation.

Last week, the Congress scion had threatened to expose Modi's personal corruption in the Parliament and had also claimed that he wasn't allowed to speak in the Lower House as it would lead to an earthquake.

Claiming that all cash is not black and all black money is not in cash, the Rahul Gandhi stated, "94 per cent of the total black money is stashed in foreign banks, real estate and gold. But why is Modi running behind only the rest 6 per cent?"

He also said that only one per cent people have 60 percent of the country's total wealth while alleging that the BJP-led central government has waived Rs 1,200 crore loan of Vijay Malya and Rs 1.10 lakh crore taken by 50 wealthy families, but they never cared about writing off farmers' loans.

The Congress VP, who had led a 'Deoria to Delhi' padayatra to bring the plight of farmers in light, claimed he had a meeting with the PM seeking waiver of farmers' loans but the latter was non-committal.

The reiterated the slogan he chanted during his Goa rally recently saying the purpose of demonetisation was "Garib ka khincho, Amir ko sincho (extract from the poor and help the rich)".

Interestingly, when some of the Congress workers started to shout slogans against PM Modi at the rally, he asked them to stop making personal attacks as it is the business of RSS.

"We are fighting a political fight against Narendra Modi, please don't raise ‘murdabad’ slogans against him as such language is used by fascists and RSS, not Congress," he told them.
