New Delhi: The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has suggested Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi that the two should often meet each other.

Gandhi on Friday led a delegation of senior Congress leaders to Prime Minister's Office (PMO) to discuss about the farm loan waiver and rise in the Minimum Support Price (MSP). The PM, in reply, surprisingly said that he and Rahul Gandhi should meet more regularly.

What Rahul Gandhi said:

  • I urged him to waive farmers' loans as soon as possible.
  • Removal of import duty on wheat is a devastating blow. The PM acknowledged that the situation of farmers is serious. On my urging that farmers' loans should be waived, the PM didn't say anything, he just listened.
  • The wheat import duty issue is exacerbating the problems farmers are already facing. Scores of farmers are committing suicide across the country and in Punjab, the situation is particularly dire.

It may be mentioned the government recently scrapped the 10 percent import duty on wheat due to a rise in domestic wheat prices. The government had said that it was concerned over dip in buffer wheat stocks buy viagra online following two consecutive drought years. The government had lowered this duty to 10 percent just few months ago.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders of the party went to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi, for discussion over demonetisation which has led to a modvigil wasted Winter Session of the Parliament.
