New Delhi: Today, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu is celebrating his 71st birthday. On this special occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah congratulated him and wished him a long and healthy life.

Vice President celebrating his 71st birthday:

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu was born on 1 July 1949 in Chavatapalem, SPSR District Nellore, Andhra Pradesh. Naidu was elected to the Rajya Sabha for the first time in 1998. Naidu was elected Vice President of the country in 2017.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished him on social media. PM Modi tweeted, 'Birthday wishes to our energetic Vice President, @MVenkaiahNaidu Garu. May he lead a long and healthy life. Venkaiah Ji is admired across the political spectrum for his warm nature, intelligence and wit. He has also been exceptional as the Chair of the Rajya Sabha.'

Home Minister Amit Shah also tweeted birthday wish for Vice President. He tweeted, 'Warm greetings to Vice President of India, Shri @MVenkaiahNaidu Ji on his birthday. A vastly experienced leader who is respected across the political line for his simplicity and deep knowledge of Parliamentary affairs. I pray for his good health and long life.'

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also tweeted for Vice President. He wrote, 'Birthday greetings and warm wishes to Vice President Shri @MVenkaiahNaidu Garu. His passion towards empowering the farmers, poor, downtrodden and other weaker sections of our society is truly inspiring. May he be blessed with good health and long life.'
