PM Modi congratulates BJP workers over Talala win

Talala: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Thursday, congratulated Bhartiya Janata Party workers for winning the by- poll in Talala district of Gujrat.

BJP candidate Govind Parmar, snatched the Talala assembly seat from the Congress candidate Bhagwan Barad, in the state's Saurashtra region.

While Parmar collected 61,721 votes while the latter got only 59,532 votes.

The by-election was held following the death of sitting Congress MLA and former minister Jashubhai Barad, on January 25.

While the Congress had fielded Barad’s younger brother Bhagwan Barad, BJP had given ticket to former MLA Govind Parmar.
