Chennai: More hurdles in VK Sasikala's road to the Chief Ministerial post as school education minister K Pandiarajan, four Lok Sabha members — PR Sundaram, K Ashok Kumar, SP Sathyabhama and R Vanaroja — and MGR loyalists C Ponnaiyan and C Aranganayagam come in support of Tamil Nadu CM O Panneerselvam.

Panneerselvam now has the support of five MPs and seven MLAs. In the 235-member Tamil Nadu Assembly, AIADMK has 135 MLAs.

Sasikala, however, had on Saturday threatened to stage protest against the Governor Vidyasagar Rao for the delay in swearing her in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu.

Sasikala on Saturday wrote to the governor asking him to send an invitation to claim absolute majority to form government in the state.

“…taking the urgency of the situation at hand, I would like to seek an appointment with Your Excellency by today with all MLAs (Members of Legislative Assembly) who extended their support to me regarding further course of action to form the Government,” Sasikala told Rao.
